Frequently asked questions

What do you sell?

We have a range of food products, such as: flours, pastas, grains and cereals, herbs and spices, nuts and dried fruit. When we don't eat them all, we also have some chocolate covered snacks, and liquorice!

We also sell plastic-free items such as: metal straws, santiary items, shampoo bars, soaps, Ecover and EcoLeaf refills, safety razors, lunch boxes and drinks bottles.

How does it work?

For our loose items (food stuffs and refills) you simply follow these 4 steps:
1. Weigh your empty container
2. Fill up 3. Reweigh and label 4. Pay at the counter If you ever need any assistance whilst shopping with us, just let one of us know and wwe will be super happy to show you around until you get the hang of it!

Do I need to bring containers?

We encourage those shopping with us to bring containers to fill up, no matter the shape or size... or if it's plastic! Whatever you feel comfortable using, bring it along, it's a perfect excuse to use up all those containers lying around! If you do forget your containers, we have jars washed and ready to be used for anyone in need.

Is it like 'Weigh and Save'?

In terms of the concept of weighing and buying as much as you need - yes! But long gone are sticky fingers, diving to the bottom of the barrel and mixing between containers. Our gravity feeds are amazing for keeping unwanted food or germs from getting inside, as well as making sure you can see exactly what you're buying. Any utensils used to decanter products into containers are thoroughly washed between uses so there is no need to worry about cross-contamination.

What if I can't find something I want?

Our staff are always happy to help you round and show you what we have on offer. If we don't stock what you're after, we have a suggestion board in store so we can try to accommodate where we can.

We have been married for 22 years and after raising 9 children have decided now we want to serve our community together. Having lived in Lowestoft for many years we are aware of the needs of the area, both for those wishing to top up on staple ingredients and those cutting down on plastic usage. We have a great love for community and we would love to meet as many of you as we can - so pop in and have a chat!
